Project Business Process Redesign and ERP Requirements Definition

Strategic/Operational, Technology Planning

Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Project Description

The JW Group (JWG) was responsible for the planning, programming, design, and implementation oversight of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to replace a number of disparate systems and custom developed database applications.  As part of this effort The JWG staff members documented current business processes and developed new “to-be” business processes for accounting and finance, human resources, time and attendance, payroll, procurement and inventory management, asset management and work order management as well as properties, and lease and revenue management.  These redesigned processes provided for efficiencies in the business operations at OMA and improved continuity across the organization. The processes also provide the required enterprise strategy and roadmap for the ERP implementation.  In addition, The JWG developed the functional, technical, integration and reporting requirements for a new system.

A rough order of magnitude cost, request for proposal (RFP) documentation for the new ERP system was also developed by The JWG. The JWG also provided owner’s representative services and implementation oversight for the airport to ensure the selected ERP vendor implemented the system in accordance with the specifications, processes, and requirements.
