Project Common Use Passenger Processing Planning and RFP Development

Technology Planning

Houston, Texas, USA

Project Description

During the planning phase of the project, The JW Group (JWG) established a Common Use Roadmap and defined the business requirements for the Houston Airport System (HAS) with specific attention paid to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).  This work included facilitating workshops with HAS staff to determine the capacity of the existing facilities at IAH, the current “pain points” with the existing Common Use system in place at the airport, and any additional functionality requirements for Common Use in the future.  Following the completion of the information gathering, The JWG developed a Common Use analysis document which delivered a Roadmap for Common Use at IAH and identified the business requirements for HAS to replace and expand its existing Common Use system.

After reviewing this documentation, HAS directed The JWG to develop an RFP to procure a direct replacement of its existing Common Use system with the capabilities to expand in the future to accommodate additional airlines and gates at IAH in addition to the William P. Hobby Airport (HOU).
